Innovation-led CAD technology company, Virtual Worlds, has been shortlisted in the VR Product of the Year category at the National Technology Awards 2017.
The company has been recognised for its industry-leading 4D Showroom software, which allows users to create and then walk around their dream kitchen or bathroom using a virtual reality headset before a single brick or tile has even been laid.
Virtual Worlds’ one-of-a-kind package uses real-time rendering and the option to include customisable avatars to create an ultra-realistic and immersive environment for consumers.
The system features up-to-date catalogues from more than 100 manufacturers, each of which has been replicated in meticulous detail and made available for customers to use at each of the 2,000 KBB retailers across the UK that offer the package.
Nathan Maclean, managing director of Virtual Worlds, said: “We are honoured to have been shortlisted for the National Technology Awards and are extremely proud of the 4D showroom, which offers an unrivalled experience for homeowners looking to design their dream kitchen or bathroom. Having been carefully created over five years, it’s fantastic that it has been put forward for such a prestigious accolade.
“Virtual Worlds has come on leaps and bounds over the last couple of years, but we’re not finished yet! We’re developing our system further to ensure we give designers the best possible tools to guarantee that their customers will love their new room.”
Virtual Worlds will be up against four competitors for the honour during a ceremony at the Millennium Hotel in London on May 17, including software provider Idox and ultrasound innovators Ultrahaptics.
