InSinkErator champions the future of food waste management at KBB Birmingham 2026
As KBB Birmingham 2026 closed its doors, InSinkErator reflected on an inspiring and forward-looking event that highlighted the mounting importance of responsible food waste management in the kitchen. With mandatory food waste separation for English households now in effect under the Simpler Recycling scheme, the brand’s message this year struck a chord with visitors.

Throughout the exhibition, InSinkErator engaged kitchen retailers, designers, and consumers in meaningful discussions about how its food waste disposers can complement composting and food caddies, helping to maintain clean, hygienic kitchens while supporting national sustainability goals.
A key talking point was the company’s COMPOST CADDY EASY strategy, an educational campaign designed to make modern food waste management simple and effective. The interactive KBB stand gave visitors first-hand experience of the benefits and functionality of InSinkErator’s product range, including models from the innovative Next Generation food waste disposer collection and a selection of instant hot water taps.
This year’s event was a pivotal opportunity to help the industry navigate new recycling legislation and understand their options. As active advocates for the responsible disposal of unavoidable food waste, InSinkErator was pleased to speak with retailers and designers about providing hygienic, convenient, kitchen solutions for their customers which complement composting and food caddy options.
The brand also took the opportunity to provide a first preview of its LEDefense sink flange, which will launch in the future, giving visitors the chance to understand more about the product and its capabilities. Backed by Vyv LED technology, the InSinkErator LEDefense flange features an always on, pleasant, purplish-blue LED light that kills 99% of odour-causing bacteria and viruses.
