The Water House Project selects Dekton® for its East London eatery

The ultra-compact surface, Dekton® by Cosentino has been specified throughout The Water House Project restaurant.  Located in the heart of Bethnal Green, East London, The Water House Project is a fine dining experience offering a relaxed, comfortable and informal atmosphere.

The interior has been designed by  Hi-Spec Design specialists in bespoke German and Italian kitchen furniture and features luxurious marble-effect Dekton Rem by Cosentino for the worksurfaces, chef’s table and wall cladding.  Installed in September 2021, the Dekton Rem surfaces were fabricated by JR Stone and include the 20mm thick worksurfaces and chef’s table along with 8mm cladding on the back wall.

Part of the Natural Collection from Cosentino, Dekton Rem is an ultra-compact surface available in 0.4cm, 0.8cm, 1.2cm and 2cm thicknesses in 320 x 144cm formats.  Inspired by elegant white marble with swirling veined detail, its intricate design features brown and grey veining with hints of gold, evoking the traditional nature of Calacatta marble.

Dekton is a sustainable choice and the perfect surface solution for this busy restaurant, as it combines carbon neutrality throughout its life cycle with hardwearing qualities that will keep it looking good as new for years to come. Its scratch, stain, fire and heat resistant properties mean it is ideal for commercial and residential projects alike as it can be used for worksurfaces, cladding, staircases, floors, furniture and more – indoors and out.

Gabriel Waterhouse, owner of The Water House Project, chose Dekton for its technical properties as well as its premium look that works perfectly for an open-plan restaurant where the chef’s table is on show to guests.  “The Dekton worktops really frame the whole of our kitchen and are the ideal finishing touch. They’re durable and help to maintain our aesthetic as well – which is perfect for what we needed.”
