Hisense teams up with Women in Sport ahead of UEFA Women’s Euro 2022

Global appliances manufacturer and Official Sponsor of UEFA Women’s EURO 2022, Hisense, has launched a new creative marketing campaign ahead of the summer of sport, teaming up with Women in Sport.

Research conducted by the charity reveals that half as many girls (30%) as boys (60%) dream of reaching the top in sport, whilst almost two thirds (62%) of girls said seeing top female athletes celebrated made them feel proud*. The Remember the Name campaign shines a spotlight on those competing in the home-based championship, aiming to make public icons of the players and leave a lasting legacy. The campaign will run across digital, social, PR, and out-of-home advertising channels, with billboards visible nationwide at key transport hubs, with a particular focus on the tournament’s host cities.

Teaming up with Women in Sport, Hisense is offering customers the chance to claim up to £150 in cashback with the option to donate a percentage of their reward to the charity, which is committed to transforming sport for the benefit of every woman and girl in the UK. All donations made to the charity will be matched pound for pound by Hisense**.

Between the 1st June and 26th July 2022, selected products across the Hisense ranges will be eligible for the offer***.

Arun Bhatoye, Head of Marketing at Hisense UK says: “We’re delighted to launch our Remember the Name campaign, propelling the women’s game to the nation’s forefront ahead of a busy and exciting summer of sports and shining a light on Europe’s female footballing stars. Not only does it give those playing the platform they deserve, but through our partnership with Women in Sport, allows us to really make a difference at a grassroots level and inspire the next generation of stars, which given their research shows a clear need for this.”

Wendy Hawk, Head of Engagement and Communications at Women in Sport, added: “We are delighted that Hisense has chosen our charity as part of this campaign to recognise the value of women’s sport and support the increasing profile and investment in female sports stars. We believe that every girl should be allowed to dream of reaching the top in sport. We hope that thousands of girls across the country will tune in to watch UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 with their families this summer; to experience the excitement, exhilaration, and euphoria of a world-class sports tournament. Seeing a new generation of female role models on their screens will empower girls to take up their place on the pitch, giving them the lifelong benefits that sport brings.”

Claire Bradley, Creative Director at IMA HOME which was responsible for the concept, creative, paid and out of home media output, added:Both Hisense and the players of UEFA Women’s Euros 2022 deserve to be household names which is where the campaign of Remember The Name supports that goal. The campaign shines a light on Europe’s amazing female footballers to provide that platform to shine in this summer’s tournament – remember where you saw them first. The campaign is further supported with a cashback offer to underline Hisense’s commitment to supporting Women in Sport. Every purchase gives people the chance to donate a share of their cashback to the charity – with Hisense matching the donation and helping more women to enjoy the benefits of sport.

Hisense is also an Official Sponsor of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 which follows later in the year.
