Bathroom and kitchen brand Abode has launched OPTIMA, a brand-new Belfast sink which is made of granite and designed with a fluted apron front. Offering a modern interpretation of an 18th-century design classic, OPTIMA is available in four matt colours to help UK customers move away from traditional white gloss models. OPTIMA is perfect in traditional and modern Shaker kitchen schemes, which are known for their matte-painted finish.

FLUTED APRON FRONT – OPTIMA is made of granite and designed with a fluted apron front to add texture to the kitchen’s cleaning zone. Mirroring the market’s love of fluted design, OPTIMA takes the traditional Belfast sink from smooth to grooved, while offering a subtle mix of light and shadow. Reversible too, OPTIMA features a fluted surface on one side and smooth on the other.
4 COLOURS – OPTIMA is available in 4 matte finishes: White Granite, Grey Metallic, Black Metallic, and Taupe Granite, a brand-new sink colour introduced by Abode in 2025 and exclusive to OPTIMA. All finish options are priced the same, meaning there is no extra charge for favourite shades.
RINSE & OVERFLOW – OPTIMA is designed with a space-making rinse and overflow, which is used to dispose of liquids when the main bowl is in use. Providing huge benefits in a compact space when washing up, rinsing, or storing your kitchen sponge, the slimline rinse offers all the benefits of a traditional 1.5 bowl sink by retaining the working depth of the main bowl. Supplied with an Abode branded overflow and 90mm waste in Stainless Steel finish, which is compatible with standard-sized waste disposal units.
STANDARD FIT – Smaller yet deeper than its closest rival, the Butler sink, OPTIMA measures H250mm x W598mm x D478 mm, making it the perfect fit for standard 600mm sink cabinets, and accommodating a compact boiler to include either a 3 IN 1 or 4 IN 1 boiling water tap. Another added benefit is that OPTIMA is supplied with all pipework, unlike mainstream models, where the waste and plumbing kit usually comes at an extra cost.
LIGHTWEIGHT – The typical weight of a ceramic Belfast sink ranges from 25-30kg, with some models weighing as much as 42kg. More straightforward to pick up and manoeuvre into place, the OPTIMA sink weighs just under 20kg, which is less than the UK HSE guidelines – ensuring a perfect fit for every installation.
ACCESSORIES – Unlike any other Belfast sink available today, OPTIMA comes with a range of custom-fit accessories to save time and space for the things that matter. Available to buy separately or as a set, options include an FSC®-approved prep board that transforms your sink into a handy food prep station, a stainless steel colander for rinsing and draining items, and a rollable Flex Rack for efficient drying.
The new OPTIMA fluted Belfast sink is now available and priced at £499, including VAT, in all four colours. Abode complementary Sink Wastes are priced from £40, and Overflow Covers start at £15 including VAT.
