Bushboard Zenith Worktop

Bushboard Zenith worktops take centre stage – Your Home Made Perfect

Bushboard’s Zenith worktops in Caldeira have recently featured in the latest instalment of BBC 2’s interiors show Your Home Made Perfect.

The recent episode follows a pair of Hertfordshire homeowners as they work with the architecture of Robert Jameson to create an extension to their 1950s semi-detached home. The finished result showcases a spacious kitchen diner that is bursting with colour and an abundance of storage.

Bushboard’s Zenith compact laminate worksurfaces have been specified in industrial-inspired Calderi for the worktop, breakfast bar and upstand. Calderi is a worn cement design that features a black core and roche finish with a slightly rough texture.

The material is reported to be simple to cut into any shape and refinished without the need for additional edging. The Zenith worktops have also been used to create a curved finish on one end of the kitchen island. Zenith surfaces can also be cut to incorporate integrated drainer grooves directly into the surface next to the sink.

Sian Astley, Project Manager for the show’s interiors transformations, praised Zenith commenting on its “absolutely perfect tone and finish, drawing the anthracite of the walls down onto the worktop and adding swirls of coppery texture to compliment the two beautiful metallic sinks and tap. We looked at many, many samples of different worktops and the Zenith was the clear winner! It ticked every box both design wise and practically.

I particularly like the textured surface and feel of the Caldeira Zenith and the way the very natural feeling surface contrasts with the ultra-modern 12.5mm thickness of the slabs. They join well and almost invisibly, with fitting made all the more cost effective as it can all be done on site rather than via off-site fabrication, even down to the grooving next to sinks.”

Caldeira is one of twenty new designs that make up Bushboard’s Zenith compact laminate surfaces range, which are newly available from October 2021. Comprising a 12.5mm profile and a coloured core, Zenith worksurfaces are completely waterproof and can expertly mimic the nuances of marble, stone and concrete surfaces in a practical and durable laminate composition.
