MHK UK & Bauformat sign first retailers to #kitchenfamily

Three MHK UK showrooms have officially become part of #kitchenfamily – a first-of-its-kind joint venture between Bauformat and MHK Group to offer a “light franchise” model exclusively to UK members.

Concept17 Kitchens, which operates a showroom in Redbrick Mill and another in Leeds, officially joined #kitchenfamily alongside Mirra Kitchens & Interiors at a signing ceremony in Lohne, Germany on 6th November 2025. Joining #kitchenfamily will give these three showrooms access to high-quality kitchen and bathroom furniture from Bauformat with the commercial strength of a leading buying group.

They will enjoy the benefits of:

  • Exclusive purchasing advantages
  • A professionally designed and installed showroom concept
  • An established brand identity and marketing support
  • Integrated training programmes.

Together, this will accelerate sales, strengthen customer experience, and support sustainable growth. The retailers will retain their independence, their showroom identity, and complete autonomy over the suppliers they work with in all other categories.

#kitchenfamily promises to deliver all the advantages of a franchise without becoming a franchise. The first three retailers, which include longstanding MHK member Concept17, are the first MHK UK retail partners to adopt the #kitchenfamily concept, enhancing their market presence with a modern retail model that combines design excellence, operational support, and brand power.

“Becoming part of the #kitchenfamily concept is a major milestone for us,” said Andrew Hatfield, owner of Concept17 Kitchens. “It allows us to elevate our showroom experience, strengthen our marketing presence, and deliver even more value to our customers. We get to feel like we’re part of a franchise, leveraging a brilliant brand name in the industry, all while keeping our independence and not being tied down to exclusively sell one brand. We’re proud to lead the way for MHK UK retail partners and are excited for what’s ahead.”

The concept brings together strong branding, a curated product portfolio, and end-to-end business support to help retailers succeed in an increasingly competitive market.

“Our partnership with Bauformat continues to open new opportunities for our retailers,” added David Morris, sales director at MHK UK. “Our members’ decision to join the #kitchenfamily universe reflects the trust and confidence in our joint strategy to offer real growth potential and long-term success for our retail partners. At MHK we want to do things differently in a way that benefits all stakeholders in the industry. #kitchenfamily is a prime example and is a win-win for everyone.”
