Caple’s matt black induction hob delivers innovative features for today’s kitchen
As a premium, scratch‑resistant, easy-to-clean surface in the kitchen, matt black glass combines striking visual impact with optimal practicality. That’s why the market is asking for progressive, innovative appliances in this versatile finish. And it is why Caple has launched the 83cm Matt Black Induction Hob with Integrated Downdraft Extractor (DD832MB), a compact, all‑in‑one appliance designed for modern kitchen layouts and open‑plan living, and the star of the show in the recent Caple TV campaign.
The DD832MB, which is suitable for both flush and inset installation and retails at £2,398.15, features a sleek frameless profile for a clean, uninterrupted look on the worktop. At the centre of the hob, the discreet integrated downdraft extractor removes cooking vapours efficiently at source, eliminating the need for an overhead hood and freeing up valuable wall and ceiling space. When not in use, the extractor is completely concealed beneath a rotating glass cover.
Integrated performance and intelligent control
The DD832MB is equipped with Touch N Slide Invisi‑Touch controls, complemented by a red display for intuitive, precise operation. Ten power levels with Booster function on all zones are available, each supported by automatic heating and auto‑boost technology for responsive, energy‑efficient cooking. Flexible functionality is further enhanced by a bridge function on both sides, griddle mode, and a preset keep‑warm setting at 70°C, making the hob suitable for a wide variety of cooking styles.
Ten extraction speeds, including Boost, are offered each with automatic extraction and auto ventilation responding directly to cooking activity; and, for long‑term reliability and ease of maintenance, the system includes stainless steel grease filters, a grease filter cleaning alert, and an auto run‑on function to clear residual vapours after use. Supplied with an integrated motor and a 150mm ducting spigot; the extractor can be specified for ducted or recirculated installation. Rear venting is supplied as standard, with KIT/960W available to enable front plinth venting where required.
Designed for safety, specification and flexibility
A comprehensive suite of safety features includes residual heat indicators, child safety lock, anti‑overheat and anti‑overflow protection, automatic safety shut‑off and auto pan detection. A power limitation function allows the appliance to be confidently specified in properties with restricted electrical supply, making it suitable for both new‑build and refurbishment projects.
Easy installation that maximises storage
The venting on the DD832MB and DD832BK* has the option to run directly from the back of the motor into the rear cabinet void, eliminating the need for ducting inside the cabinet. Air flows behind the cabinet and exits via the plinth, freeing up storage space and making installation both quicker and easier.
*This model can be specified with Caple’s Plasma technology, which helps filter airborne contaminants and odours for a cleaner kitchen environment.
