deVOL showcases bespoke kitchen in North Downs historic hall

In one of deVOL’s most captivating projects to date, a remarkable family home has been transformed into a rich tapestry of rooms, each brimming with distinct character and imaginative design. From statement features to subtle touches, this home exemplifies the very best of deVOL’s bespoke kitchen and interior craftsmanship.

At the heart of the home is an awe-inspiring kitchen where an Officine Gullo island commands attention. This striking centrepiece is not only visually arresting but also highly functional, seamlessly integrating refrigeration, prep space, cooking zones, steaming, and grilling. Behind it, a beautifully curated run of Classic English cupboards houses a selection of large and small appliances, arranged with simple efficiency. The entire space is effortlessly elegant and inviting.

Curved, hand-tiled walls lead the way through a series of pantry spaces, each with its purpose and charm. A quaint pantry alcove flows seamlessly into a larger Haberdashers-style pantry, discreetly set into a corner. Inspired by the aesthetic of a traditional butcher’s shop in a nearby village, this area combines nostalgia with functionality. Although the exterior glazed wooden partitions weren’t manufactured by deVOL, they were purpose-designed to complement the cabinetry from the Haberdasher’s range, achieving a harmonious and integrated look.

An arched doorway reveals yet another delight—an area of deep, moody cabinetry housing coats, hats, dog essentials, and even one of the most delightful reinterpretations of a pot filler: a designated dog drinking station. “We’ll definitely be stealing this idea!!” commented the deVOL team, reflecting their genuine enthusiasm for client-led innovation.

Each pocket of this home has been thoughtfully considered. One standout is the coffee and drinks station, a compact nook adjacent to a snug seating area. Despite its modest size, it is fully equipped with water taps, drainage, coffee machines, and well-organised shelving and rails. This clever use of space exemplifies deVOL’s ethos—no area is too small to deserve beautiful and purposeful design.

deVol says such projects require more than just great furniture; they demand a synergy between designer, client, project manager and fitters. The homeowners chose deVOL for their ability to deliver not only high-quality bespoke cabinetry but also characterful and individual pieces that come together in a way that feels coherent, yet never over-designed.

“We loved working on this project, all the inventive and creative ideas that the customer brought to the design were new and unique. This kind of collaboration is really special; we are very lucky to have such wonderful customers and wonderful designers who work together and imagine spaces as fabulous as this one,” said the deVOL team.

This project is a testament to deVOL’s design philosophy—blending timeless British craftsmanship with originality, practicality, and a genuine sense of place. With each new room, this home offers another reminder of how truly bespoke design can elevate everyday living.
