Houzz Pro enhances workflow with AI-powered mobile Clipper & Selections tools

Houzz Inc has rolled out a set of enhancements to its sourcing and procurement capabilities within Houzz Pro, designed to make workflows more efficient for interior designers and architects.

A key development is the expansion of the Clipper tool to mobile, bringing a native, AI-enabled experience directly into the Houzz Pro app. The updated tool allows professionals to capture product information, pricing and imagery from any mobile browser environment. These items can then be saved instantly into a centralised library and used within proposals, selection boards and project budgets, reducing reliance on external extensions or third-party software.

“The future of sourcing is mobile, AI-powered and completely seamless, and now we’ve brought this to the Houzz Pro app”, said Alon Cohen, co-founder and CEO of Houzz. “With the mobile Clipper, it’s easier for pros to capture products from anywhere and easily move from inspiration to execution. Combined with new selection board templates and placeholders, Houzz Pro provides a more complete solution for managing sourcing, selections and project budgets in one place.”

Alongside this, updates to the Selections functionality are aimed at improving structure, organisation and project visibility. A new “clip from URL” option enables users to quickly add products into a Selections Board simply by pasting a link, helping speed up specification without additional manual steps.

Selection Board placeholders have also been introduced, giving designers the ability to plan quantities and product categories before final selections are confirmed. Once decisions are made, these placeholders are automatically replaced with full product data while retaining quantities and overall project structure.

In addition, Selection Board templates provide a reusable framework for frequently used project types. Teams can save existing boards or create new templates from scratch, supporting a more standardised approach and improving consistency across multiple projects.

“As interior designers, we’re constantly saving inspiration and product ideas while on the go,” said James Karpin, director at Studio Akiva. “The Houzz Pro Clipper has already made that process incredibly efficient, and the new AI-powered functionality takes it a step a further by automatically adding key product details. It makes a big difference to how quickly we can build mood boards and share ideas with clients.”

The Clipper tool and updated Selections features are included for subscribers on the Essential package. At present, the mobile Clipper is available on iOS devices, with an Android version expected to follow.

Fully embedded within Houzz Pro, these additions sit alongside existing capabilities such as estimating, invoicing, take-offs, 3D floor plans and mood boards, supporting professionals throughout the entire project lifecycle.
