Mick Stir retires from TKC

Mick Stirr retires from TKC after 22 years’ service

One of the company’s longest-serving employees, Mick joined TKC in 1998 where he developed an in-depth knowledge of the company’s product portfolio and became TKC’s second area sales manager, covering an area initially spanning Leicestershire to Newcastle. His geographical area over the years became more focused on Yorkshire as TKC’s business expanded.

Throughout his long career Mick has been an integral part of the TKC team, building and maintaining solid relationships with customers to develop one of the company’s strongest and most established sales territories. Over the past two decades Mick has also witnessed many changes in the business, embracing new technologies as TKC has introduced them.

Says Andy Marshall, sales director at TKC: “Over a successful 22-year career, Mick has been instrumental in the growth and development of the business, building lasting relationships with customers thanks to his determination and drive and willingness to go the extra mile.

“To his credit Mick has willingly adapted to the changing needs of the business, which is almost unrecognisable from when he first started. We wish him all the best and I personally extend my gratitude to Mick for his efforts and commitment to TKC.”

Says Mick Stirr: “I’ve been proud to be part of TKC’s growth over two decades and to have managed some of the same customers over all of that time, many of whom I’d now consider as friends. Whilst technology has undoubtedly changed the role, building relationships with customers is something that’ll never go out of fashion, and I’ve always taken a pride in doing for my customers what I’ve committed to. TKC have supported me and I’d like to think I’ve helped them develop, it’s been a great partnership.”
